White Houseboats is a well-oiled, well-run enterprise. From the get-go, Madeleine was excellent with her communication and booking information. When we arrived, Brendan and Murray were super friendly and efficient in instructing us on how to drive and moor the houseboat each night. The adventure on a fully equipped and luxurious houseboat began. We headed upstream from Mannum, encountering beautiful birdlife and such amazing scenery. Moorings were easy to find and even included hand-feeding a beautiful Kookaburra on our boat railings one evening. This was a relaxing trip that we will never forget and will definitely “Eat, sleep and repeat.”

Four couples spent 4 nights on the Whitewater Houseboat and we had an absolute blast. After a thorough briefing g our captain was prepared to drive the boat and Brendan’s great recommendations saw us pull into some gear spots each night.

The photos absolutely replicate what you get. The boat was well appointed. We each had our our ensuite bathroom and overall plenty of space. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed to cook some lovely meals. Because we were one of the first boats out after the floods it was very quiet on the river and we barely saw another boat. May have been a different trip if things were a lot busier.

Would highly recommend. For some of us in our party that find it hard to switch off and relax it was just the break we needed

My family and I hired Absolute Bliss from White Houseboats for a week. We had an absolutely amazing time and can wholeheartedly recommend the experience to anyone thinking of exploring the Murray River by houseboat. Brendan and Madeleine are very helpful and friendly hosts which made planning for the trip a breeze. Brendan picked us up in Adelaide and transported us to Mannum via a supermarket stop for provisions which was very convenient, definitely recommended and good value compared with trying to do the road trip by taxi or rental car. This was our first houseboat experience and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Absolute Bliss was very well appointed with all the modern conveniences and comfort features you could wish for. Our hire commenced and finished at Mannum Waters Marina where White Houseboats are based and during the week we made it as far upstream as Swan Reach. This section of the Murray River turned out to be a fantastic choice for house boating, the scenery is spectacular and we really enjoyed the plentiful wildlife. We also found it easy to plan our time and very relaxing with just a few hours of motoring each day and then finding a nice river bank spot to moor for the night. Awesome holiday, we’ll be back!

The Flat White was a beautiful boat inside & out. Clean, modern, very well appointed kitchen (it literally had everything we needed, right down to champagne stoppers), and the spa was amazing. The heating/cooling was perfect, the boat was easy to drive after our lesson, fridge/freezer and esky situation was spot on, we were able to take enough for our 3 nights and never left the boat, except for camp-fires at night. We had a great time kayaking and fishing, watching the world go by and enjoyed platters on the roof top listening to music. The washer and dryer was a great addition. We got up early to watch the sunrise each day, stunning. 10/10 will be doing it again

Dear Brendan,

Even if it was only 3 nights, it feels like 3 weeks of being away from the real world. Whoever thought we would have so much fun and leave with so many memories…..dog rescue after Andy fell in chasing ducks, frogs in life jackets, swamp excursions resulting in being covered in black smelly muck, the canoe trips were peaceful, and at the end of it all an awesome spa. It all meant more than you know to the two of us, to have time away. Thanks so much for the opportunity.

We had the opportunity of having a weekend away on Absolute Bliss and I would like to start off by saying that even before we started boarding the houseboat we were greeted by the most friendliest and welcoming staff nothing was to much trouble. Everything was explained to us in a way that was easily understandable and easy to follow instructions also you are given a phone number incase anything should happen during your hire. All facilities were extremely clean. Our handover at the end of our weekend was just as easy and effortless. We would like to thank White houseboats for making our weekend on the river a relaxing one.

Having hired many houseboats over the years I consider myself to be somewhat of a reasonable judge of the quality available for Hire and every time that I have judged a houseboat my wife has threatened divorce, due to what she calls my ‘nick picking’. I, however, take the view that with the money paid to hire these boats a certain level of expectation is not unreasonable, or so I thought.

Am delighted to say, for the very first time after hiring ‘Flat White‘, even my expectations of quality were surpassed, something my wife thought impossible.

From the moment we stepped aboard it was evident that no expense was spared and no corners cut, in fact we could not believe that this was a hire boat, the quality of the finishes, the practical layout and mechanical specifications would put most boats on the river to shame, even the so called ‘luxury’ hire boats pale against ‘Flat White’.

Thank you for the thought and care that you have taken in building ‘Flat White‘ and we look forward to many more holidays aboard.

It’s not often I take the trouble to put pen to paper after a holiday, but I would like to take this opportunity to provide some feedback for you, after a fantastic 5 days cruising the Murray on your spectacular houseboat ‘Flat White‘. Truly a super experience on what I believe is a world class vessel (let’s face it ‘Flat White‘ is a luxury apartment on water…difference being the views change whenever you want them to!)

I must admit to some degree of nervousness when the initial idea of actually driving such a big boat, but after 10 minutes at the wheel I felt comfortable and confident, such is the ease of use and user friendly controls. This type of holiday is something that I feel is totally unique to South Australia, and in particular, your very spectacular and classy vessel.

I must congratulate you in the finishing touches that provide that extra special holiday experience, it certainly felt that no expense had been spared when it came to comfort, safety and convenience.

You and your team have thought of everything (I particularly liked the elegant linens and comfortable beds, not that sleeping was difficult in such a peaceful quiet environment, days filled with jet skiing, water skiing, lazing on the top deck and evenings of great BBQ food on the back deck and excellent wines helped a bit too!)

I will be returning to the Murray next year and wouldn’t dream of visiting without a few days out on ‘Flat White‘. We had a ball.

Well done and thank you for an unforgettable experience.
