At White Houseboats, we’re more than just a luxury houseboat hire company — we’re a small, family-run business passionate about sharing the serenity, natural beauty, and joy of the Murray River. Based in Mannum, we offer a personalised, high-quality houseboat experience designed to bring families, friends, and groups together to create lasting memories.
Our story began in 2005 when Brendan, then a Sydney real estate agent, designed and built two of the houseboats that remain in our fleet today. Growing up, Brendan spent countless weekends on the river skiing, boating, and relaxing with friends, and his love for houseboating never faded. After retiring from real estate, he turned that passion into a full-time venture, expanding the fleet and sharing the lifestyle that shaped so many of his own cherished memories.
I also spent many weekends during my childhood on the river with family and friends, creating lasting memories of my own. So it felt natural to join Brendan in building this family business — one that allows us to share our love of the Murray River with other families while creating lasting memories with our own, including our two daughters, who are already houseboat enthusiasts themselves.
Today, we run White Houseboats together as a husband-and-wife team, supported by our dedicated operations manager, Murray, who quite literally calls a houseboat home.
We take great pride in the presentation and comfort of every boat in our fleet, each one individually owned by river-loving families. Every houseboat is luxuriously appointed, regularly upgraded, pet-friendly, and features a spa on the top deck — the perfect place to unwind and soak in the spectacular scenery.
